Doing regular exercise not only help you to reduce weight, but it helps you to reduce stress, strengthen your heart and lungs, helps you to sleep better, which itself prepares your body to fight fat by improving your metabolic rate. Overall it improves the quality of your life.

The most important fact you have to keep in mind is to be consistent with your exercise. If you are willing to make a deliberate attempt to lose weight you not only lose weight but be fitter too. The people who exercise live longer too without the risk of a heart disease or other chronic illness.

The food we consume gets converted into calories. What ever we do during the day, sleep, do chores, walk, climb stairs, breath or digest food, all take up calories. Any physical activities other than our normal ones burn up more calories. To get a streamlined figure, you have to balance your calorie intake and physical activities.

Have a realistic expectation from your exercise and diet too is important. Find out what would be an ideal weight loss for you before you begin. Slowly and steadily you work yourself up to achieve that goal. It is better than getting frustrated and stopping in between.
